The highest priority of Survivors of Suicide, United Support Inc is to promote effective initiatives that serve people immediately after a suicide. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to provide the ones left behind with ways to get support. Most people are not aware that there is support during their time of grief and ways to speed up the healing process.

ABOUT US

Here at Survivors of Suicide, United Support Inc, we are driven to do our part in helping those in urgent need. Suicide numbers are rising. Those left behind are distraught and need immediate help. We deploy a crisis unit to go to the aid of a survivor after a suicide has taken place. We show up so they do not feel alone and to connect them with information such as support groups in the area. We will provide a package incuding local and virual support, and follow up getting these individuals into group counseling. Reducing trauma by entering the scene on behalf of the victims to pack up essentials and facilite an overnight accommodation or transport to a desired safe location.
Within the provided package are materials such as, a book on grieving after a loss to suicide, cards, and brochures to support groups and children's items for any children impacted.
Our intentions make a positive impact on the mental health of the affected by such a sad and scary loss. Our goal is to reduce the stress of the unknowns so they can focus on taking care of themselves.

WAYS WE HELP

The Focus of Our Efforts

PHASE 1- CRISIS SUPPORT

Help us provide immediate crisis support to those who have lost someone to suicide. We need volunteers for our crisis units and donations to pay for gas and supplies that we give out at the crime scene. We want to make sure noone feels like they are alone in this. There are so many people who have experienced such a tragic loss and want to help. Join us in our initiative to help those during such a tragic time. Survivors of Suicide, United Support Inc will ensure that those we serve are better prepared to persevere in the unique situations they find themselves in.

PHASE 2- RESTFUL RETREAT

Through our Capacity Building program, we have the potential to make real and positive change. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Survivors of Suicide, United Support Inc. We are challenged to a massive undertaking. We plan to build a nature retreat for those who are at high risk for suicide, depressed, stressed or need to get away from the world to come and relax. Have you ever felt trapped? Like you want to run away but have no where to go? Just want to catch your breath? Sometimes we just need a break, to slow down and take another look at things. Our hope is that this relaxed setting will help those who need it envision a clear path for people to move forward. A stay can be 1 week to 6 weeks. Small cabins with bathrooms and simple amenities like a/c, electricity, fridge and small stove will be provided. Many acres to explore and take in nature. Our hope is to add on each year.
